It may appear that the Hand clap voice sounds liker there is a reverb effect applied, however this is not the case - there is no internal reverb effect on the RD-8. If the first couple of hand claps will sounds ‘dry’ before the rest of the handclaps in you sequence sound like they have a longer decay, this is caused by the units capacitor charge time. The clap circuit requires a small period of time to ‘warm up’ before the decay is in full effect.

Although this is not a feature, this ‘capacitor charge’ was present in the original TR808 unit of which the RD-8 is a clone.
