Ditto Looper: Level goes up when using looper - down when bypassing
Question When in bypass, the level is OK, but when using the looper, the level in the output increases. Why
When you record a loop, and play along with it, you are just adding 2 signals together and the result will be a louder signal.
Ditto has 3 signal paths:
The true bypass (relay),
The analog dry through once the looper is engaged, and -
The "wet" signal (once you have recorded a loop).
The analog dry through signal has the same level as the bypassed signal. The wet signal will have the same signal as the others when the knob is set at its maximum position. Combining wet and dry would theoretically end up with a level increase of up to 6 dB (if level is at max) but in the real world, it is a bit less with a guitar.
